This book - although it is a true account of the remains of the lives of six survivors of the atomic bomb disaster dropped on Hiroshima - is not merely intended to entertain the reader and comfort him by telling these stories. Rather, it represents a palm that touches - with some violence - the reader’s chest to make him pay attention to what he sees around him. The misery of this humanity when it is entrusted to itself, and its vulgarization of its values whenever it is able to crush those it sees as a stumbling block to its interests.
