Ancient chemistry “its reality and the position of scientists towards it”
And with it: advice to fools regarding the invalidity of chemistry. By Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah - may God have mercy on him -
Manuscript published for the first time
The study is unique in tracking the disagreement of scholars in ancient chemistry in terms of its natural possibility and its legal ruling, and investigates their statements in the two positions throughout the geography of Arab culture and the history of science in Islamic civilization, which is a door that no one has opened, as far as I know.
With this study, there is a verified heritage text of great importance published for the first time by the Imam, the scholar Abu Abdullah Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, and it was counted among the missing from the heritage, so that God the Most Gracious, through His grace, facilitated the discovery of a unique written original of it, readable by its author, the Imam, and its handwriting and approval.
It is sufficient for you as an indication of its value and status, above and beyond what you know of the majesty of its author and his high rank, that the works on this subject are precious and scarce, hardly exceeding the number of the fingers of one hand, and only less than that has reached us, and the book has remained hidden from the eyes of researchers, out of their reach, for many centuries. Orientalists and others interested in the history of chemistry among the Arabs and tracing the literature on it were not familiar with it.
